Being a low season, Sri Lanka in October is a great destination for those who wish to avoid crowded country and travel around the country at their own leisure. Day 1 – Arrived in Colombo & hired a car for 7 days. Stayed near Western Province Beach & visited Colombo Market. (40 mins from Airport)
Day 2 – Left for Kandy, Visited Elephant Orphanage on the way, explored Kandy & visited Helga’s folly for lunch. Stayed in Villa Montfort booked through Airbnb. (5 hours journey)
Day 3 – Kandy to Nuwara Eliya. Explored Nuwara Eliya town & market. Bicycled around the lake. Stayed in Lake Garden Villas – Villa 2, Nuwara Eliya, Central Province, Sri Lanka booked through Airbnb. (4 hours journey)
Day 4 – Left from Nuwara Eliya to Ella (5 hours), Went for a trek & enjoyed the nightlife at the beautiful Ella town market. Stayed in a hotel booked through Airbnb.
Day 5 – Left for Mirrissa ( 3 hrs 45 mins drive) – Explored Beach Shack Party @ Mirissa Beach, Flea Market, Coconut Tree Hill. Stayed @ Airbnb home stay, 1 kms away from the beach.
Day 6 – Left for Galle in the afternoon (3 hours 47 mins) – Explored Galle Dutch Forlt, Galle Light House, Galle Market and stayed @ Airbnb home stay.
Day 7 – Left for Negombo – Explored Dalawella beach, Turtle point, Maduriver Safari, Bentota Beach on the way. Stayed @ Airbnb home stay in Negombo.
Left for Colombo Airport next morning (20 mins away from the beach)
